Fair Chase
Real, free-ranging game and a hunting experience centered on skill, patience and ethical decision-making.
Fair Chase. Texas Tradition. Unforgettable Hunts.
Heart of Texas Bowhunting was built around a simple idea: give hunters good ground, useful local knowledge and enough freedom to truly hunt.
The operation has been publicly described as a DIY-style bowhunting destination where hunters receive orientation to feeding, bedding and movement areas and then make their own stand or blind decisions within the ranch rules.
That philosophy rewards woodsmanship. Wind changes. Deer patterns shift. A hunter who sees movement somewhere else can adapt instead of being locked into a permanent outfitter stand.
Heart of Texas Bowhunting is headquartered in Melvin, Texas—approximately 15 miles west of Brady, 60 miles east of San Angelo, and about 5–10 miles from the hunting areas. The operation offers three-day semi-guided and unguided DIY bowhunting packages across multiple ranches totaling about 25,000 acres.
All hunting properties are low-fence, free-range areas with rolling terrain, live oak, mesquite and brush cover that provide forage and concealment for deer, turkey, Axis and hogs.
Real, free-ranging game and a hunting experience centered on skill, patience and ethical decision-making.
Thoughtful wildlife management, respect for ranch property and maintaining quality habitat for future seasons.
Hunters are active participants—reading terrain, managing wind and choosing how to approach their hunt.
